A fantastic turn out for our easter 'Alice In Wonderland' Dance workshop. Loved all your costumes, and very much enjoyed falling down the rabbit hole with you all, and having a lovely tea party with the Madhatter. Well done to you all !!!
On Saturday 22nd July at 10am, some of our dancers took part in a wonderful dance performance at the Cunningham Theatre, Thorpe Hall. They all looked fantastic in their stunning costumes and danced beautifully to a selection of fun songs chosen especially for this event. Very Proud of you all !!
We had an amazing turn out of 'Book Characters' this week at dancing. Round of applause goes out to parents for organising these spectacular costumes for our themed dance class. We jogged round the park with 'stickman', we then enjoyed 'going on a bear hunt', followed by some dancing with 'the tiger that came to tea'. Such an exciting week!
Congratulations to our First Steps Dancers, who performed for their friends and family, with their new Bollywood Themed Dance. You were so good... very well done!!

Fantastic themed dance classes for World Book Day-March 2022. Really enjoyed seeing so many character costumes during the week and it was lovely seeing you all go on a Bear Hunt, bounce like Tigger and enjoy lunch with the hungry caterpillar.
Our young dancers from First Steps Dance performaned in an end of year show and were fantastic. These sensational little Elves stole the lime light completely and made their fan club audience very, very proud. Well done to all our young stars !!
We have three fantastic 'Under The Sea' dance workshops running over the summer holidays with awards to be given for great dance moves. Can't wait to see you there !
Our fantastic dancers performed this year before the end of term, to a reduced, but loving audience. This enjoyable experience for our youngsters, hopefully made up for us missing out on our Christmas show, we would have enjoyed pre-covid time. They all danced so well. Thank you for making me ever so proud. Sorry we couldn't invite every family member to covid rules, but thank you to those who were lucky enough to join us. Congratulations to all our Super Stars dancing on the stage this summer !

Fantastic costumes this year for our World Book Day celebrations. Thank you to all those that joined me for our fun online classes. We enjoyed building a house with the three little pigs and jumping along to Tigger's favourite song too. So proud of how well these young stars have adapted to dancing on a screen from their homes. Well done guys... so proud of you all.
We are having fun once again, dancing online in the new year. Covid will not stop us having a good dance together in 2021 ! Well done to both kiddies and parents for adapting so well with the new changes. So good seeing everyone weekly online... keep dancing !!!! 
The World may stop, but our love for dance does not have to. We are now dancing from home via Zoom each week, and enjoying some fun dancing, safely in front of our screens in the comfort of our homes. Looking forward to our next sessions.... 
Make sure you have checked the new timetable, covid rules and have booked in advance to secure your dance place. We are returning for a little bit of new-normal on 14th September. We have some friendly magic markers in place, ready to help our young dancers social distance, so they can have fun dancing and keep safe to. Hand sanitisers are in place around the hall also. Due to the Covid Virus, we are keeping safe at home and enjoying some time dancing together on Zoom. Fabulous class girls, very well done! 
We had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day with our themed dance classes. Great costumes, from the hungry caterpillar to the stickman and our patchwork elephan Elmer. We enjoyed the wonders of Tiggers favourite jump, climbed Jack's beanstalk and we built a house for the three little pigs. What a fun filled week, well done to all those that took part.
Congratulations to all those fabulous dancers that performed in this years show "Animal Antics". What fun we had up on the stage. I am ever so proud of you all, you did such a great job and I think all members of the audience enjoyed watching our animal antics too. Round of a plause to you all, thanks for a great year. We say goodbye to 2019 and welcome more dancing in 2020! 
I'm excited to launch our Next Steps dance training program to all those of school age. Commencing this January coming, Thursdays 5pm at St Edmunds Hall Southend. No dance background is required to take part in this fun, friendly class. In each class, students will cover a dance warm-up, cover dance based body toning and stretching exercise, gain heaps of co-ordination and develop enough dance technique to be confident to join/perform a choreographed dance piece. Great summer holiday classes this year. Well done to all those dancers that took part. We enjoyed some dinosaur themed dance, plus for our older students- Greatest Showman hits, Descendants and Disney Zombies. Thank you to all that enrolled, you were brilliant !
Well done to all our dancers that took part in "Tesco's Dance Beats" event on Saturday 20th july, to raise money for Cancer Research, Heart disease and Diabetes. You all did me proud, and the shoppers looked ever so happy with your beautiful dancing. Thank you for volunteering your time at the weekend to dance with me in the supermarket. You were all fabulous !
Wow... what an amazing Performance in 2018's "Christmas Card" on stage. So proud of all these little superstars that took part. New music and exercises will be rolled out in 2019 so lots to look forward to and our summer workshop will be just around the corner, more info to follow. Excellent costumes this year for our fun Halloween classes. What a loud BOO! too. We had fun wiggling our skeleton bones, marching like Zombies and showing our Fangs. Well done to all those little spooks that attended. We are now looking forward to our Christmas Production, so get yourselves in the christmassy spirit...

Hooray to all those who attended this year's summer workshops, it was a great success. Fantastic Belle costumes for our Beauty and The Beast Theme dancing. We enjoyed changing from prince charming to the beast, read books like Belle, had sword fights with Gaston and finally waltzed round the room to "Tale as old as Time". Always a happy ending. What fun....
Welcome back to dancing in 2017. A big well done to all those students who took part in last year's performance of "Christmas Quacker". I was very proud of you all, hope you had fun being apart of it all. Thought you looked fabulous as little ducks in the rain, Nutcrackers and Sugar Plum Fairies. Spooktacular Halloween Week at First Steps Dance. Amazing costumes, well done mums and dads for organising such wonderful outfits. Brilliant ghostly dancing, great skeleton wiggles and some frightful spell making in lesson. Well done to all our little dancers who attended. Such a fun week, what a great HALLOWEEN !
In the new year First Steps Dance shall be holding new toddler dance classes in Rochford. Please contact us to book your first lesson free of charge. The exciting new class begins Thursday 9th January at The Freight House Rochford. These lessons will be held term time at 10am every Thursday mornings. The class will consist of lots of fun music and moves to develop little ones rhythm, co-ordination and stamina. It's a great work out for toddlers of many ages and helps them establish movements/... 
Monday 21st October, all the First Steps Dance pupils enrolled in a spooky Halloween special day. The children had great fun arriving to their lesson in fancy dress costumes. We had cute pumpkins, scary skeletons, wacky witches and some sweet black cats. We danced to the Monster Mash, wiggled our bones like skeletons, flew round the room with our ghost sheets and had fun spinning on our bottoms (introduction to break dancing). Well done to all our groovy spooks who joined in that day you all ... 
"Dance Around the World" was our fabulous dance workshop that took place on 12th August 2013. The children who took part enrolled on an imaginative venture across the globe. Experiencing some new dance styles and music from Cuba, Australia, Hawaii, China and returning back to Scotland. Although the children were unfamiliar with these dance steps and techniques they showed great triumph and enthusiasm. We danced goodbye to the Dragon and hello to the Chinese Snake with First Steps Dance. The children enjoyed a themed lesson to celebrate the start of the Chinese New Year. They developed their rhythmic response by responding to a different type of music with the chinese drums and symbols. The children developed their style of dance by trying out classic chinese dance with fans, which they took home to decorate with mums and dads after lesson. On Sunday 9th December, nine up and coming toddlers danced on stage at St Edmunds Community Hall and presented their families with an amazing 30 minutes of magic. First Steps Dance was very proud to present their christmas production "We Will Rock You!" For some youngsters this was their first time on stage and wow was it a success.
